Monnig Announces Candidacy for MO 29th Senate District

Ron Monnig, lifelong Missourian and resident of Eagle Rock has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the 29th District of the Missouri Senate. Monnig, a retired small business owner and city council member, has dedicated over 45 years serving his community in various appointed, elected, volunteer positions driven by a deep passion to make things better for his neighbors.


“I am running for the Missouri Senate to address the real issues faced by the people of Barry, McDonald, Lawrence and Christian counties that have been ignored too long. The 29th District deserves a Senator that will work with their peers to make their lives easier, not to use our lives to score political points.”



A trusted and savvy small businessman, Monnig served 9 terms as a Slater, MO city council member, on the National League of Cities Economic Development Committee and led the Missouri delegation to to annual and Congressional conferences. Monnig was a member of the Governor’s Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation and served as a member of Governor Nixon’s Citizens Transition Advisory Committee and Inaugural Celebration Committee.
